Love Post #2: Fanfic writer love!

The general love post is still open, as all posts will be after their 'week'. This week we start on specific love posts.

Fanfic writers

Who are your favorite authors? What are your favorite fics? Your favorite fic communities? What do certain people do better than any others? This is a post to focus on the POSITIVES of Veronica Mars fanfic. Any negative comments will be deleted. Anonymity is welcomed, and signed comments are also encouraged.

I think this fandom has a lot of great "lesser-known" authors. Examples: [info]dontyouwaitup, [info]windsor, [info]dark_roast.

I think [info]lila_82, [info]mutinousmuse, [info]kuromatic and [info]dark_roast are all brilliant writers. I get so excited when one of these guys posts a new fic.

I have to throw out mad love for [info]shealynn88, who channels the voices of whoever she chooses to write and seems to have a direct pipeline into Weevil's head. She's pretty much a one-stop shop for all kinds of UC, gen, and minor character goodness. She's my VM fic brain twin and I was lucky to find her.

I never would've gotten into VM fic in the first place if it weren't for [info]kieyra's fantastic Weevil/Veronica stories in "The Enemy You Know" series. She suckered me in and left me here alone. Somebody make her write more fic! *sob*.

And [info]romanticalgirl and [info]amelia_kay wrote my favorite Sheriff Lamb fics in "The Poseidon Adventure"/"The Morning After" and "Hearts and Flowers and Little Rhinestone Crowns," respectively.

I have so many favorites. Too many to name and I know I would leave someone out. I think the VM fandom is filled with wonderfully talented, innovative and creative writers and I am so glad I get to enjoy the benefits of all their hard work.

There is one fan fic that I love dearly and have read more times then I can count. I suspect this work would have captured me no matter where it was created and IMO it is good enough to be published. LOL I am kind of protective of it and actually get annoyed when the author herself nitpicks at it. So I would have to say [info]queen_haq is one of my all time favorite fic authors, because Alive holds a very special place in my fan fic loving heart.

I enjoy many of the writers but a few of my favorites are [info]haleyj_the_bat, [info]kuromatic, [info]mutinousmuse, [info]boyfriendincoma, [info]amelia_kay, and [info]dark_roast. And of course I have to send out mad love to the bestest, who I love like a $2 whore, [info]queen_haq.

The huge difference between the VM fandom and any other fandom I read fic for is the huge lack of bad!fic. I mean, of course there is some, but almost every fic I've seen I would consider at the very least readable. I don't think I can say that about any other fandom that I know of.

So, in conclusion, there are too many authors to list. :D

[info]queen_haq (Her writing has improved so much, she's basically just brilliant), [info]haleyj_the_bat (I pretty much love everything haleyj writes, seriously!), [info]sinaddict(12 Rolls of Film blew my mind and yeah, everything [info]sinaddict wrote too), [info]mutinousmuse (Because [info]mutinousmuse wrote the AU on AEFC that was just fucking amazing), and [info]theohara (because Broken Toys Rocked. My. World.)

I have a LOT of favorite fics, and a LOT of favorite fic writers, but right now I'd like to give my shoutout to [info]herowlness. Not only is she an amazing fic writer, but she's a wonderful friend, and the SOLE REASON I ever even attempted to write a VM fic. So, thumbs up for good fic, thumbs up for being so encouraging, and thumbs up for being my MINDTWIN OMG.

And, dude, I love convincing you to write VM fic because I can give you the most CRACKED OUT idea/prompt, and you'll turn it into this absolutely fantastic and hilarious work of fiction. :) I mean, seriously, where else could I turn to get my Logan/MLP fic but to my mindtwin?

The long list of the wonderful fic writers that I adore
[info]queen_haq-I am convinced that she is Rob Thomas because you know Rob Thomas=Awesome & [info]queen_haq=Awesome. Even if I try to think of something bad I just can't.

[info]monimala-I go to her for my Donnie and Ronnie crack (hehe Donnie and Ronnie)
[info]__tiana__-Do I even need to explain Holding the Curve is one of the first AUs I feel in love with.
[info]synful_trixxie-What can I say beside the fact the she is the incridible talented cliffhanger lovin' writer ever
[info]jacedesbff-She writes suspense like no other
[info]sarah_p-I just started reading Babes in Toyland and her fics full of funny-sweetness but she still manages to stay on topic

My favorites? In completely random order, I swear:
[info]mutinousmuse, [info]sadie_kate, [info]jacedesbff, [info]sarah_p, "lj user="__tiana__">, "lj user="queen_haq"> for her L/V fic because I have a personal anti- Meg/Logan prejudice that even excellent writing will not remove, [Bad username: madame_librarian], [info]monimala's Lamb/Veronica makes me laugh as much as "lj user="klawick003">'s Dick/Veronica fic because they both keep Lamb and Dick in character and toss them with Veronica and it's it's hysterical when Lamb and Dick both wonder what the f*ck they're doing...ohh..love [info] and [info]theohara..there's many more I enjoy of course, but those ones pretty much always make me happy :)

I'm going to try and not name everyone I love because then I'd be here for a very long time ;-)

[info]theohara's fic is so freaking fantastic. There were times when I wished that her Virtual Season 2 was the real season 2.

[info]dark_roast delights me with her fantastic Logan characterisation and never fails to bring the funny in her articles for [info]neptune_online.

[info]sexycereal writes the L/V dynamic so beautifully.

[info]alocalband and [info]boyfriendincoma: I get so excited when I see fics from these guys.

[info]sophia_bee writes the angst so heart breaking-ly well.

And all my fellow writers for [info]neptune_online are fantastic and wonderful.

One of my favorite writers is [info]txtequilanights. I don't like reading incest, but she makes the Duncan/Lilly fics so hot. Also she's got the voices of Dick and Lilly down perfectly.

Is it considered a compliment if you're seriously considering making a kewpie doll of someone and sticking pins in it if they don't update their fic soon?

If that's not a compliment, someone may want to warn [info]skk670 because I'm about to google 'creating kewpie dolls'...I'll also make a kewpie for [info]defybrevity since I also want more When Angels Speak, not just more When Cuddling Isn't the Best Part...everyone else has been pretty good with updates and are somewhat minimizing the torture...*knock on wood*

that been said, i'll say my favorites:

[info]sinaddict = best season one fics you'll EVER find. she has a gift with veronica's voice.
[info]gardinha = written on the body anyone?! just go read it.
[info]strippedpink = i still don't how to pronounce her name, but that doesn't fucking matter. she writes logan smut like no one can ever do it. she can see how logan would probably react to something and she nails that sucker.
[info]truemyth = she's the queen of angst. period.
[info]sexycereal = great logan voice, great veronica season one voice.
[info]buffyx = i read about everything she'll ever write, because everything is perfect.
[info]sadiekate = i love her logan/weevil and her smut. slash smut, het smut, i don't care. is it sadie's smut? i'll fucking read it.
[info]sophia_bee = possible the best logan/veronica smut writer in the whole fandom.
[info]txtequilanights = best lilly voice, HANDS FUCKING DOWN. i know that amerella's "we remember our bedrooms, and our parent's bedrooms, and the bedrooms of our friends" is great, but rachel's lilly? best in the world.
[info] = genius. choose life? MOTHERFUCKING DUDE
[info]queen_haq = she writes au's like a queen. wherein you can't NOT love logan, even when he's being an asshole.
